WE ARE a Native-American, tribally-owned SBA certified 8(a) small business. Chippewa Government Solutions is a subsidiary of Sault Tribe, Inc, the business arm of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians.
WE DIFFERENTIATE ourselves by applying the Anishinaabeg Seven Grandfather's teachings to do business in the “native way,” combined with making the acquisition process easier and more efficient via our SBA certification as an 8(a) small business. As board of directors president Alan Barr explains, "Our teachings like honesty, humility, and bravery, to name a few, lend a unique competitive advantage. People want to do business with trustworthy and dependable companies that aren't afraid to be innovative. That's how we will continue to succeed in cultivating profitable business relationships.”

Benefits Beyond Revenue

The Chippewa Indians are the 4th largest tribe in North America, with over 150 bands stretching from Minnesota to Michigan and into southern Canada. This includes over 44,000 Sault Tribe members, descending from the Anishinaabeg (meaning “Original People” or “Spontaneous Beings”), who lived in the Great Lakes area for millennia. STI serves the mission of the Sault Tribe through contract awards, revenue generation, and job opportunities. In addition, we contribute to economic diversification and reduce the Tribe’s dependence on federal programs. To show STI Federal’s commitment, 100% profits are either reinvested into the businesses or distributed to the Tribe to fund and improve various our health, education, and cultural initiatives.
